Sahara Desert in North Africa
Sahara is the world’s largest hot desert and third largest desert after Antarctica and Arctic deserts. It is estimated to cover about 9.4 million square miles including the Libyan Desert, comparable to the respective land of China. The desert comprises of much of the land found in North Africa, save for the fertile coastal patches of the Mediterranean Sea. It covers countries like Libya, Chad, Egypt, Mali, Niger, Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia.
