Marcinda Hankins found herself after being dismissed from JPMorgan Chase in 2018. Today, the single mother is transforming men’s grooming with her multimillion-dollar beard care brand, X’clusive Looks Beard Sauce.

To help support her family, she started a salon suite business that provided makeup and facial services after she lost her job. But when unexpected challenges arose during the pandemic, she took a part-time job as a waiter at a cigar bar, earning $300 per week. It was there that she had an awakening.

In a statement cited by Black News, the Frisco entrepreneur noted that “Men often asked if I had anything that could make their beards feel as good as their faces after a facial. I realized a gap in men’s grooming and decided to fill it.”

Using her experience as a licensed esthetician and the suggestions she received from the men she encountered in the lounge, Hankins created a formula that will revolutionize men’s grooming. The result is an oil that hydrates the beard and caters to the skin underneath the beard, keeping it from experiencing common problems like dryness, itching, breakage, dandruff, and split ends.

She remarked, “I wanted to create more than just a product; I wanted to deliver an experience. Too many men don’t know how to care for their beards properly, and my mission is to educate them while offering something that truly works.”

Because of her own experience, the mompreneur is dedicated to encouraging women, particularly single mothers, to pursue their dreams in addition to achieving commercial success.

“I’ve been in a place where I felt overlooked and stuck,” she says. “Through faith and persistence, I found my purpose. I want to inspire women to believe their ideas matter and can lead to extraordinary success.”

She is also working with esthetician colleges to teach future experts how to care for the skin underneath their beards.
