Social media went into overdrive on Wednesday when DJ Cuppy, the musician and daughter of Nigerian billionaire oil magnate, Femi Otedola, excitedly revealed her father had gifted her and her two other sisters three Ferrari Portofino vehicles valued at around $215,000 each.
Taking to Twitter, DJ Cuppy, born Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, shared: “Papa took us shopping and bought one of each!”
This Tweet came a day before dropping a cryptic message promising to break the internet this week – and she did.
In a follow-up tweet, she jokingly said: “I stopped Nigeria for the day. I’m done now, everyone can carry on. Goodnight!”
Cuppy’s sisters, Temi and Tolani, also shared photos of their newly acquired toys on their social media pages. The sleek cars came in three distinct colors: Pink for Cuppy – which is her signature color, brown for Temi and blue for Tolani.
The sisters and their billionaire dad, who doesn’t stop short of showering them with expensive gifts, became the talk of social media after unveiling what “Papa” got for them. Though some of the reactions questioned the rationale behind the expensive gifts, most were light-hearted and hilarious.
Even superstar musician, Davido, whose father is also a billionaire businessman, couldn’t help but comment, saying he would “do the same” for his daughters “one day.”
“Chai money good,” the If singer admitted.
