Authorities have detained a North Carolina mom, accusing her of choking a school employee after being called to a meeting over concerns about her daughter’s fighting.

On May 5, 33-year-old Mariah Hector was arrested and charged with trespassing and two counts of assault on a school employee after she allegedly attacked three staff members at Randolph Middle School.

Hector was phoned by the school to be notified of her daughter’s alleged fight, but once she got there, she reportedly became ‘argumentative.’

School staffer Michael Smalls told Hector she had to depart the premises, and it allegedly led her to push past Smalls and slam the school’s principal, Jennifer Schroeder, into the wall.

Hector then ‘grabbed Area Superintendent Jennifer Dean with both hands around her neck and attempted to choke her.’

The arrest affidavit indicates that Hector was pulled off of Dean by other staff members but not before being left with ‘visible signs of injury around her neck.’

Although Dean remained conscious, she reportedly had a hard time breathing.

Soon after, the North Carolina mom was arrested before she was released on a $5,000 bond, according to online records.

Hector nonetheless said that her angry outburst was not exactly all that happened.

Speaking to WSOC-TV,  the 33-year-old revealed that her daughter had been bullied by other students on multiple occasions since September.

‘I was angry because I have been trying to prevent this from happening all year,’ the North Carolina mom said.

‘My daughter was jumped and her hair was pulled out of her scalp, it was by a number of girls and a boy and also they threw a trash can on her.’

‘I came to speak to the administration [and] I felt like they just brushed it off and didn’t take it serious.’

Prior to Mariah Hector’s alleged outburst, a no-contact order between her daughter and a group of students was issued, with her class schedule also adjusted.

Despite these efforts, her daughter was allegedly attacked again on the day of the arrest.

‘I felt like nothing was gonna happen, like it was just basically catty, you know, teenage behavior,’ Hector said.

Right after the incident took place, the school was placed on lockdown, per WBTV.

Hours later on that same day, Trinity Nixon, 20, appeared at the school and was charged with second-degree trespassing

Nixon had allegedly entered the school after employees informed her not to, and started to yell and curse those there.

These alleged physical and verbal attacks came just weeks before Principal Schroeder was suspended with pay.

Passing a message to parents, Dean stated that Schroeder was ‘away from campus’ during end-of-year testing, WCNC reported.

For now, it remains unclear why Schroeder was suspended with effect on May 20.
