Nikki Giovanni and James Baldwin conversation
On the TV show Soul! in 1971, Baldwin sat down with author Nikki Giovanni to chat about their experiences. They told each other about the triumphs and trials and connected all of that to the overall African-American experience.
But one other thing this conversation showed was Baldwin’s willingness to listen and learn about the things he may not be well-informed, such as being a black woman.
