Arguably the scariest among the lot, there was at a certain point in time hearsay of “plastic rice” imported from China. In videos that were shared across social media, the plastic rice, when cooked and shaped in the form of a ball becomes very bouncy.
The viral videos even compelled Ghana’s food and drugs authority to carry out an investigation with findings revealing there was no such thing being sold on the Ghanaian market.
