The second official trailer for Coming 2 America has been released and this time around, we get to take a look at how Prince Akeem breaks the “news” to his long-lost son and how he also attempts to settle an internal family conflict back home in Zamunda.

The trailer begins with Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his best friend and personal aide, Semmi (Arsenio Hall), going back to the old barbershop in New York City and reuniting with Saul, Sweets, Clarence and Morris. When Prince Akeem tells them he’s back in “The Big Apple” after learning he may have a son, the old men become bemused and wonder why he decided to return, considering the fact that he hasn’t paid child support for 30 years.

“No child support for 30 years and you came back? You’s a dummy!” Morris exclaims before breaking out into laughter with Saul, Sweets, Clarence.

In the next scene, Prince Akeem manages to track down his supposed son and apparent heir Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler), and breaks the news to him. He also later meets up with Lavelle’s mom, who is played by Leslie Jones.

When they all return to the kingdom of Zamunda, we get to know things aren’t that rosy in the royal family after Prince Akeem introduces his daughters and wife to Lavelle and his mother. It appears one of his daughters is unhappy she cannot be heir to the throne due to tradition.

We also catch a glimpse of what may be a power struggle as Prince Akeem talks about General Izzi’s (Wesley Snipes) desire to take over Zamunda.

The highly anticipated sequel features the likes of Garcelle Beauvais, Shari Headley, John Amos and James Earl Jones reprising their roles alongside Murphy and Hall. Besides Fowler, Jones and Snipes, we are also introduced to other new faces including Tracy Morgan and Teyana Taylor.

Take a look the latest trailer below:

In a recent interview with Complex, Hall spoke about how everyone brought their A-game to make sure they did not disappoint those eagerly waiting for its release.

“I wanted to put my foot in this one. Everything worked out good. Everybody brought their A-game every day, giving 100 percent, on time,” he said. “When you see the outtakes, you’ll realize how much fun we had. You’ll watch the outtakes and say, ‘They shouldn’t have even paid them, because they had too much fun. That’s not no job.’”

Coming 2 America will premiere on March 5 on Prime Video.
