Muammar Gaddafi – Libya

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi until his death in 2011 ruled Libya for 41 years. His style of leadership described as cruel by Libyans and the international community made him a target.

The first attempt came in 1986 when the United States ordered a military plane to drop a bomb in his compound. He survived this and many more attempts on his life until he was killed.
