Snacking has become a thing lately and many parents wonder if their children were fed well in school because the rate at which they request for snacks is quite alarming. Not to worry, give them a healthy snack option like almond chocolate truffles.
Most children love chocolate truffles so it is very likely they will get hooked on this healthier version of the snack. It is very easy to make, and you do not have to bake it either. It can also double as a dessert for the whole family.
Nut based butter on its own is very nutritious and the perk to this treat is, there is no added white sugar and it is made with dairy-free butter and cream.

Ingredients
1/2 cup almond butter
10 medjool dates pitted
1/3 cup chocolate chunks use dairy-free chocolate for vegan option
2 tbsp cocoa powder plus more for dusting
1/4 cup macadamia nuts
Instructions
Add dates, almond butter, and chocolate chips or chunks to a food processor. Pulse the mixture until everything combines well. The mixture should end up soft and fine without any large chunks of dates.
Take about a tablespoon of the mixture, insert one macadamia nut and then roll into small round balls.
Roll these dates truffles into dry cocoa powder and refrigerate to set. Store them in an air-tight container.
Notes on serving
You can also coat these truffles with melted chocolate.
