Snoop explains how his ‘nephews’ Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef positively impacted the rap game

Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s rap beef is undoubtedly one of the most high-profile and heavily discussed hip-hop feuds in recent history. Over several weeks, the two renowned emcees traded jabs and also made scathing allegations against each other in their respective diss songs.

And though there has been divided opinion on who won the rap beef – that is if it has actually ended – their feud inarguably set social media ablaze and got some fellow rappers as well as other entertainers sharing their views about the feud.

The latest rapper to address the feud is legendary West Coast emcee Snoop Dogg. In a recent interview with ET, the Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper made it known he wasn’t going to take sides – though he expressed his gratitude to Kendrick and Drake for positively impacting the rap industry with their feud.

“Well, the only thing I want to say about that whole scenario is that I want to give both of them a shout-out for raising the bar as far as lyrics, as far as song-making and writing because the writing has been upped since the confrontation or whatever you call it, whatever they went through,” Snoop, 52, said.

“Those are my nephews. I’m not in the middle of it. I support both of them and that’s personal business, not my business.”

Snoop explained further, “As far as what they did for the industry and the rap game, they made you rap again.” “You can’t mumble your way and gimmick your way to a song no more, buddy. So, thank y’all,” he added.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Snoop at a certain point in the feud became a topic of discussion after Drake used A.I. vocals of the Doggystyle rapper and Tupac Shakur on his Taylor Made Freestyle diss track to Kendrick.

Snoop later took to Instagram to seemingly ascertain what was happening. “They did what? When? How? Are you sure?” he asked in an Instagram video he shared in April.

“Y’all have a good night and to all … Why everybody calling my phone, blowing me up? What the f—? What happened? What’s going on?” he added. I’m going back to bed. Good night.”
