Authorities have revealed that Shane Tamura, the man who shot four people to death at a Midtown Manhattan office building before ending his life last Monday, suffered from a sports-related concussion and several alarming mental health episodes.

Tamura’s mother told cops that her son was in one of the worst places mentally and needed support to prevent many others from getting hurt.

According to The Post, 27-year-old Tamura alleged that he suffered from CTE brain injuries and accused the NFL, which has offices at 345 Park Ave, of covering up the dangers of brain injuries in his apparent suicide note that was stashed in his wallet when he stormed the high-rise.

Reports indicate that he was targeting the NFL offices when he stormed the building, which also houses Blackstone and Rudin Management offices.

Also, Shane Tamura had a documented history of mental illness and migraines, which included two hospitalizations where Tamura’s mother warned authorities he wanted to hurt himself, according to Las Vegas Police.

Cops revealed that back in September 2022, Tamura’s mother quickly called emergency dispatchers to warn them that her son kept a gun in his backpack and was threatening to kill himself.

“He said he’s going to kill himself,” she said in the recorded 911 call. “He didn’t say he made a plan, he just said he just can’t take it anymore.”

His mom had made the call from a stairwell outside a Budget Suites Motel because she didn’t want him to know she was calling the police, said authorities.

“He just started crying and slamming things and said I’m making him worse, so I said, ‘I’ll step outside,’” she said. “I don’t want you to be upset, but I’m afraid to leave.”

According to multiple reports, Tamura indicated he suffered from a sports-related concussion.

His mother also stated that the crazed gunman was struggling with depression, chronic migraines, insomnia, and had been taking sleeping pills and smoking marijuana.

Back in 2024, he was admitted to a hospital after he called his mother to tell her he wanted to hurt himself, a first responder captured on body camera video released by Las Vegas police.

The 27-year-old shot himself in the chest and asked that his brain be studied in the note he left behind, suggesting he suffered from CTE from playing in the NFL, though he never played professional football.

Tamura played high school football in California, where he was described as a standout player, and his brain will be examined for CTE as part of his autopsy
