Spiritual concoction leaves Nigerian woman dead in church, prophet arrested

A Nigerian prophet is in police grips over the death of a female member of his church.

According to the Lagos State Police Command, Michael Dominic, the head pastor of the Celestial Church of Christ, Jesusegun parish, allegedly administered the concoction to the woman who came to him for spiritual healing with her boyfriend, Ifeanyi Enyinna.

The woman, Rahamat Audu passed away after taking the concoction.

The pastor has since been paraded by the police alongside the deceased’s boyfriend for alleged conspiracy and murder.

Police say that the 25-year-old Rahamat lived with her boyfriend on Lekan Street, Shibiri.

The deceased, on May 19 complained of having a cough and headed to the church for a solution, where she was allegedly given the concoction, according to her boyfriend.

On his part, the 34-year-old prophet said: “I only gave her a mixture of lime and honey, because she was coughing and then asked her to go home.

“Moments later, I heard people screaming outside the church. By the time I rushed out, I met her on the ground,” he was quoted by local media Vanguard.

The concoction has been taken for forensic analysis.
