Rapper T.I. is reportedly giving back to his community through the new housing project he is spearheading in Atlanta. The affordable housing project is located near the city’s west side Bankhead Highway where the rapper grew up. He bought property near Atlanta’s Bankhead Highway in 2019 and later sold it to Missouri developer Vecino Group. The rapper is now collaborating with the developer to construct affordable housing units of the land.
On October 25, the rapper gave details of the project on his Instagram page. “Checking up on my development in Bankhead man. Right here used to be the old Kmart Giant Food,” he said in the video.
“We’ve got affordable housing, 143 units going up. Mixed-use community,” he continued on, stating that development was almost “40 percent done.” “We supposed to be done sometime next year,” T.I. added. “This is our first project that’s a development—proud of it. Since everybody’s somewhat from here, let’s see what you done did for here, ya dig?”
The development includes 69-one bedrooms units, 49-two bedroom units, and 25-three bedroom units. In addition, the rapper shared that the location will also have “community centers, a greenhouse, and a community garden.”
T.I. told Inc Magazine in 2018 that he wanted to provide development that would allow people from the area, who love the community, to be able to afford to stay.
According to Madame Noire, the property, called Intrada Westside, will take 18 months to complete.
The rapper also used the video to lash out at the media for recent publications about him. He said that he’s doing more for his community and urged all to continue to support him.
“I got love for everybody over here, but if anybody got anything to say about me s–t man don’t look at me, look at my work. Don’t look at me look at my work. Look at my moves, s–t we can kill all the cap.”
The media publications have centered around sexual abuse allegations involving the rapper and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris. They are accused of allegedly drugging numerous women for the intention of participating in sexual activities while also allegedly running a sex ring.
The allegations surfaced recently after Sabrina Peterson, a former associate, took to social media and accused the rapper of holding her at gunpoint at a children’s party and shared alleged victims’ stories about their encounters with the couple.
