These 7 classical African novels should be adapted for film

NERVOUS CONDITIONS and THE BOOK OF NOT

Movie lovers enjoy the emotional thrill of waiting for a second part of a movie and this compelling book and its sequel provide just that if ever adapted to film. Nervous Conditions follows the life of young Tambu, a girl hungry for an education. She rejoices at the death of her brother because it presents an opportunity to go to school.  The two books follow Tambu’s life and her desire to keep running from her present situation with the hopes of finding a better future. To many, Tambu represents an “enlightened” African, after being exposed to an education, who is no longer able to fit into what was once a comfortable zone. The adaptation of these books would be a something to look forward to mainly because the author Tsitsi Dangaremba is a filmmaker herself with many movies that have done very well in her home country Zimbabwe.
