Blaise Compaore

Blaise Compaore was ousted out of power in 2014 at a time his party requested a referendum to scrap term limits ahead of the 2015 polls.

Still struggling with Compaore’s decision not to leave office, the country is currently faced with instability from an insurgency in the Sahel region.
