James Brown

The soul singer tried to prevent show organizers in his hometown, Augusta, Georgia from segregating the crowd, but he failed. Not succumbing to the recent happenings, he made a personal vow never to perform for a segregated crowd and he succeeded.

For his next show in Macon, Georgia, he stood his grounds and insisted for the audience to be integrated before he performs.
