Nelson Mandela and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela

Despite their divorce in 1996, Nelson and Winnie shared a special fundamental bond that could not be severed. The pair got married in 1958 after Mandela’s divorce to his first wife, Evelyn. The marriage, described by many as strong, resisted the tide of apartheid/segregation and Mandela’s 27-years imprisonment.
