Prof Jacob Plange-Rhule
Prof Jacob Plange-Rhule, the Rector of Ghana’s College of Physicians and Surgeons succumbed to the deadly virus earlier this month.
The astute doctor, local media reported, died at the University of Ghana Medical Centre where he was admitted to the intensive care unit of the facility, one of the healthcare facilities in the country the government designated for treating COVID-19 patients.
Prof Plange-Rhule is the first doctor to die from the disease in the country.
