Golf great Tiger Woods is expanding his business portfolio with his latest business move with Justin Timberlake. The two are opening T-Squared Social in New York City, which was birthed during a round of golf at Albany in the Bahamas.
According to Woods, he and Timberlake felt it would be pleasurable to create a place that combines people’s favorite things and brings people together to have a great time.
“The idea for T-Squared Social came to us during a round of golf at Albany, our development in The Bahamas,” Woods said, according to this press statement. “Justin and I thought it would be cool to create a place that combines our favorite things and brings people together to just have a great time. We always knew we wanted to do something together, and NEXUS gave us the platform to bring our idea to life.”
“We knew a concept like T-Squared Social would thrive in New York,” said Timberlake. “It’s a beautiful space that transcends the typical sports bar experience. You can go to be entertained without sacrificing quality or comfort. We’re excited to be partnering with 8AM Golf on this incredible opportunity right in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world.”
The restaurant features elevated cuisine, craft cocktails, state-of-the-art Full Swing simulators, duckpin bowling, and darts, in addition to televisions for watching sports. Also, the facility has “multiple low- and high-top tables; a variety of plush lounge areas; and reservations-only luxury ‘Box Seats’ featuring 11 four-top tables in front of a 200-inch, high-definition screen said to be the largest single screen in NYC,” the release said.
T-Squared Social is not Woods’ first investment in the food and entertainment industry. He co-owns the PopStroke, a technology-infused golf entertainment, with locations planned all over the country this year and next, according to CBSSports. He also owns The Woods Jupiter restaurant in Florida.
Woods saw his career take a hit following a publicized divorce due to infidelity, losing multiple endorsement deals as a result, having a few run-ins with the law, and enduring a string of injuries.
Woods, has, however, managed to put his past behind him and proved his doubters wrong. Described as one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history, he won his fifth Masters title at the Augusta National recently, making it his first major victory in 11 years.
In 2021, he and Michael Jordan topped the list of highest-paid athletes of all time, per Sportico. He earned $2.1 billion in career earnings as well as also benefiting from a longtime Nike partnership.
In June this year, Woods was also featured in Forbes magazine’s “New Sports Billionaires in the world.”
