‘Too much foolishness’ – Stars mock Kanye West’s bid to become president

Kanye West is serious about becoming president but his fellow celebrities will have none of that. Over the weekend, the rapper announced that he intends to join the 2020 race for the White House this year, and celebrities have been trolling him since he made the announcement.

It’s just four months to go until polling day and even though time is not on his side, the “Wash Us In The Blood” rapper was confident of success when he tweeted on Saturday: “We must now realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future.”

“I am running for president of the United States.”

Though West’s wife Kim Kardashian and Tesla billionaire Elon Musk have tweeted their support, many stars have been mocking the rapper for his presidential bid.

Comedian Tiffany Haddish, copying West’s tweet word-for-word, announced that she would also be running for president, and even joked that comedian Dave Chappelle could be her running mate.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I too am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.

“So #HaddishChappelle2020 (sic),” the Girls Trip star wrote.

Actor Octavia Spencer was also not impressed with the rapper’s announcement. “Too much foolishness today. #SitAllTheWayDown,” she wrote. “It’s obvious that some people live in a bubble. It’s about time to burst it. #2020vision.”

Other stars like Toni Braxton also jokingly announced they would be running for president in this year’s election. Now the latest to join these celebrities ridiculing West is Jamie Foxx.

The “Just Mercy” star commented on an Instagram post by NBA player Stephen Jackson, who had criticized West’s move.

Jackson wrote: “Kanye Trump. Fool u once shame on them fool u twice u and 2x fool. #justiceforgeorgefloyd #justiceforbreonnataylor and so many more. #ivehadenough of the clown s—.

“Love for all who have love for all Leader of The New School. Leading with Love. Demanding not asking (sic).”

And Foxx replied: “Gottdamn right!!!. Ain’t got time for the b—-!!! (sic).”

43-year-old West first announced his intentions to one day be president at a speech during the MTV Video Music Awards in 2015.

“…I have decided in 2020 to run for president,” he said. But in a subsequent interview, the Yeezy founder said he would run in 2024.
