We represent the herbs on the podium
The Indicas are short like Napoleon
Sativas don’t like too much sodium
The seeds can replace your petroleum
The leaves have a skunky aroma scent
THC make you feel like it’s heaven-sent
CBD is to me like a medicine
Do some research and you’ll be pleased by the evidence
Perhaps you cultivate some trees in your residence
And agree to disagree with the Presidents
Tell the Prime Ministers please don’t be hesitant
To let the herbs grow and be free!

While critics fear that relaxing the laws on Marijuana use can lead to drug abuse and other crime related activities, it’s use for medicinal purposes can never be overestimated as many claim it has helped them cope with various diseases and situations and for many years now, such people have been pushing for its legalization.

Globally, more and more states, particularly in America, are passing laws to allow the sale of marijuana in some form. In Africa, countries like Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and South Africa are beginning to tap into the profitable industry following the global rise in the use of cannabis.

As some countries continue to relax their laws surrounding the legalization as well as commercialization of marijuana, the championing of this cause by some of our favorite reggae-dancehall acts – both past and present is worth highlighting.

Serving as unofficial ambassadors, they have used their music and influence to educate people about the benefits of the plant besides recreational consumption.

In no particular order, scroll through to check out 10 pro-marijuana songs – both old and recent you can add to your playlist. Enjoy!
