It is refreshing to see women helping one another. Keke Palmer came through similarly for popular celebrity mom Tina Knowles.
The 71-year-old experienced a wardrobe malfunction during the Los Angeles stop of her Matriarch memoir book tour on Friday, May 2, while Palmer, 31, was a special guest and moderator.
In an apparent attempt to keep the silver strapless gown from slipping off her body, Knowles was seen holding it up in a TikTok video that a fan posted.
Palmer, meanwhile, made jokes in an attempt to lighten the mood. “Is this it?” she asked Knowles as she got up from her chair, and then another woman entered the stage to help with the outfit.
She added, “They was acting like it was a whole murder show,” mimicking some of the facial expressions she said she saw from event staff in reaction to Knowles’ wardrobe malfunction.
“I thought it was serious,” she continued. “I saw the teleprompter [start] typing, ‘We need something.’ The hell do y’all mean? They went in for no reason.”
Palmer was still making jokes, while Knowles was still adjusting her clothes with help before they resumed their chat.
“Glad that’s over,” Palmer said, adding, “They were going to give me a heart attack. Whew! So back to the book.”
Knowles, who is the mother of daughters Beyoncé, 43, and Solange, 38, is presently on tour to promote her new memoir, which follows her from childhood to her ascent to entrepreneurship.
