There were 144 black homicide victims in Wisconsin in 2016, with the homicide rate among black victims being 37.57 per 100,000 that year. Out of 144 homicide victims, 124 were male and 20 were female, with the majority of victims being shot and killed by handguns. 66 per cent of victims (45 out of 68) were killed by someone they knew. Twenty-three victims were killed by strangers.
