Indiana recorded 205 black homicide victims, ranking fifth in the United States. Out of 205 homicide victims, 184 were male and 21 were female. 93 per cent of victims (186 out of 201) were shot and killed with guns, mostly handguns while others were killed with knives, cutting instruments (type not stated), and bodily force. For homicides in which the victim to offender relationship could be identified, 94 percent of victims (62 out of 66) were killed by someone they knew. Four victims were killed by strangers, the report said.
