France is the 2018 World Cup winners after edging out Croatia 4-2 in Moscow.

Goals from players of African descent, Paul Pogba in the 59th minute Kylian Mbappé in the 65th minute contributed to the win.

France made quite an impression since getting into the tournament, earning the support of many Africans across the world after no African team went past the playoffs.

It has been 20 years since France won the World Cup.

Mbappe becomes the second youngest player to score in the world cup after Brazillian player Pele.  He also received the young player of the tournament award.
