We are still in the early days of 2018 but Nigerian musician, Davido is proving that he will be a force to reckon with this year in the music scene. After having a successful 2017 with numerous awards and about five singles, his “If” and “Fall” continue to be the best songs the African continent and the world at large have had.

On Wednesday, news broke that the pop star, real name David Adeleke has had the hit songs “If” and “Fall” going diamond and platinum in sales respectively.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), ‘If’ has been sold or streamed one million times and ‘Fall’ has reached ten million record sales.

Davido shared the news on his Instagram page on Wednesday, announcing that his awards and plaques have arrived.

He also shared photos of himself with the plaques.

“‘IF’ is officially Diamond and ‘FALL’ is officially Platinum in sales!!! My trophies finally came in as well! GOD IS REAL! Thank you guys for making this happen!! Just getting started!!! Bless to my team @efe_one@asaasika@missamadi@sirbanko,” he wrote on his Instagram page.

This is not the only proof that he is currently the hottest. Just last month, he swept three awards in eight nominations at the 2017 Soundcity MVP Awards. He picked up awards for Song of the Year, Video of the Year, and African Artist of the year.

This was after beating Wizkid, Mr Eazi, Maleek Berry and several others to grab the Best African Act award at Mobo Awards 2017.

At the NEA Awards, the star also took home two awards for Hottest Single of the Year (“IF“) and Afropop Male Act of the Year.

2018 just got started and as usual, artists are aiming to fill the year with new releases and albums. But one song which is already making an impression on everyone is Davido’s “Flora my Flawa”. The track already has over 2 million views on YouTube since it was released this month. Watch the video below and tell us what you think:
