One of the biggest annual music and arts festivals in the world, Coachella came to an end on Sunday, April 22. The highly successful event saw electrifying and unforgettable performances from some of the world’s favourite musicians.
Africa, in particular, was buzzing when it was announced Nigerian afrobeat star Wizkid was billed to perform at the event.

His set was however postponed to the final weekend of the festival due to some visa issues his band was facing.
We are sorry to announce that Wizkid is unable to make it into the country to join us this weekend but will be performing next weekend.

His absence left some fans and people on social media wondering why he did not perform. Take a look at some of the reactions. Some were hilarious though.
whatever happened to Wizkid’s supposed coachella performance this past weekend ?

D’banj got the first globally recognised track ‘Oliver’. However that did nothing to take the genre global. That was a singular moment. WizKid’s out here carrying a whole genre on his back. That is why he wouldn’t do Coachella without his band. He knows the task he’s undertaking.

So just like that, Wizkid did not perform at Coachella at all. Are we at least going to have an explanation? What’s the reason this time?
