‘You think I’m playing’ – Man kills fiancée after she filmed him threatening her with gun

“You think I’m playing, huh?” – Those were the words of 18-year-old Kevin Dixon to his girlfriend as he loaded the gun with the bullet he would use to fatally shoot her in a case of domestic violence.

What makes the murder more harrowing is that the deceased, 20-year-old India Mackey, filmed Dixon loading the clip with the bullet moments before he made good on his threat.

According to ABC News, the incident took place on November 19 in Warren, Detroit, in Dixon’s car around her residence. Dixon was subsequently rounded up and arrested. He is facing charges of first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearms charges.

“Everything about this case is just awful and this, certainly, just adds to it,” said McComb County Prosecutor, Eric Smith.

In the video released by the office of the prosecutor, Dixon can be seen repeatedly asking Mackey if she thinks he is playing while loading the displayed gun with the bullet to which she responds with “OK.”

“These big four-five hollow tips gonna eat you up,” Dixon can be heard saying in the video.

“This video is being taken by a woman who’s going to be killed in moments is unbelievable to me,” Smith said. “The last thing her family has of her is the video where she is pointing a camera at the man who is going to kill her.”

After the atrocious murder, Dixon, who drove off the scene with Mackey’s body was pulled over by police at Eastpointe, Michigan, for driving erratically, ABC News further reports. Mackey’s body was subsequently found in the passenger seat of the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to prosecutors, Dixon, after the murder also called his mother, Nikita Dixon, to assist him dispose off the gun he used to murder Mackey. She was arrested on Thursday and charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence when she attended her son’s arraignment on Thursday. Her bail is set at $100,000.

Dixon’s bail request, on the other hand, was denied by the judge.

The sixth domestic violence related murder in McComb County in the space of two months, Smith advised people to take precautionary measures when caught up in such situations.

“Please, if you are facing an imminent violent situation, leave the situation immediately and call police,” he said in a statement, according to ABC News. “Do not stay and record the incident. It could be the difference between life and death.”
