The name George Floyd has become synonymous with protests. The unarmed black man was killed on May 25, 2020, in the Powderhorn community of Minneapolis, Minnesota by police officer, Derek Chauvin.
Since his death, blacks across the globe have reignited the call for equality in the justice system in the U.S. While the conversation has been switched towards a systematic deficiency affecting blacks, Floyd’s family continue to mourn a man best described as ‘loving’.
