A Virginia couple recently went viral for all the wrong reasons after they filmed themselves opening an ice cream tub and taking turns to lick it before placing it back in a grocery store freezer.
Following the backlash that ensued after the video was initially posted on Instagram, Tequan Hines returned to the social media platform to confirm he and his girlfriend Asia purchased the ice cream in question, TMZ reported. Hines also claimed what they did at the supermarket was a prank and displayed an ice cream tub that had been consumed.
A Virginia State Police spokesperson also told the news outlet that they were able to confirm the ice cream wasn’t left in the grocery store’s freezer as the couple bought the tub after they filmed themselves licking it.
Hines initially posted the video of the supposed prank on his Instagram page before later deleting it. Virginia police later launched an investigation into the incident after they received several reports about the video. However, it appears the couple won’t be facing any consequences for their actions.
