Kierra Henderson is an African-American trucking entrepreneur who founded The Trucking Guru. The mother of three, with no high school diploma, was inspired into trucking by her father, and has since ‘steered’ the company to success.

She challenged herself, building her business from scratch despite her limited knowledge and qualifications. Kierra was also driven by her “do or die” spirit. For over 15 years, Henderson has won major contracts, including a 45% contract in the oil and gas industry.

She first started as a dispatcher and worked her way up to a fleet manager position. When that position abruptly ended, she began to work independently as a home-based dispatcher for owner operators that she had developed relationships with.

Today, she owns over 140 trucks, dispatchers, and a brokerage firm. What is more, she has signed contract deals surpassing a value of $100 million. “I evolved to a fleet owner and now teach thousands of students around the world to become self-sufficient and leverage a recession-proof industry that fuels the economy in more ways than one,” she added.

According to AP, “Trucking in the United States remains a highly competitive, challenging, and equally lucrative business. It is a main contributor to the country’s GDP, employing around 950000 truck drivers.” Though finding the way to success in the industry has not been easy, for Kierra, it became “a game and a matter of survival.” She remained determined and persistent and is now focused on sharing her success story to inspire others.

However, finding success was not easy for Kierra, as she faced many difficulties, including financial problems, taking care of her parents and children while running the business – her determination to change the lives of others has been her driving force.

Kierra is not keeping her success to herself; she currently teaches industry aspirants about the different ways to succeed. In 2019, she started “The Trucking Millionaires Tour” to inspire other entrepreneurs about the job.
