Meet Patnisha Williams, Jessica Matthews, and Deanna Bynog. They are the founders of Get Signatured, a Black-owned customizable jewelry curator and accessories brand. The company prides itself on providing meaningful, handmade jewelry that tells a story with wallet-friendly prices and customer care that enable the founders to connect with people around the world.

The women started the business online and are set to launch a brick-and-mortar location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The launch of a physical location is very important for the women because it will allow them to honor their commitment to build strong bonds with their customers by meeting them individually in the community.

The grand opening of the location is also aimed at bringing to light the fact that less than seven percent of black women are in the jewelry business. The trio also wants to use the opening to cement their presence as a minority-owned business in Baton Rouge during National Black Business Month, Black Business reported.

“We are very excited about the grand opening! It feels surreal and also amazing to open a storefront where we can build relationships with our customers and have a place where they can shop for their jewelry and accessories and feel seen,” said Patnisha, according to Black Business.

On her part, Jessica said they are honored to join a growing list of black-owned businesses that have brick-and-mortar locations in Baton Rouge, describing the feeling as an absolute privilege.

“As many are aware, most businesses are built on Black spending power. It is a privilege to be able to fill in the gap by offering custom items for our community with unique names without the hefty price tag,” said Jessica.

“Being able to launch a woman-owned jewelry storefront is one of the highlights of my entrepreneurship journey. The success of every woman…should be an inspiration to other women that your dreams can come true,” Deanna added.

The global jewelry market is expected to reach almost $307 billion by 2026. Black-owned jewelry brands like Get Signatured are hoping to make a mark.
