Authorities in Louisiana said a 22-year-old woman stabbed her grandfather in the face after he asked her to take a shower. In an August 29 statement, the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said Carrington Harris was arrested after “an investigation revealed she stabbed her grandfather in the face following an argument over her hygiene habits.”
Authorities said Harris got into an argument with her grandparents after they asked her to take a shower. But things escalated and the suspect started “damaging property inside the house and then turned the power off from outside.”
Detectives also said that Harris’ grandparents later tried to restrain her. But she “escaped and retrieved a knife from the kitchen, using it to stab her grandfather.” The 22-year-old subsequently fled from the home and hid in the woods. She was, however, later found hiding behind a nearby home a few hours later, the statement said.
Authorities arrested and charged her with one count each of Domestic Abuse Battery and Domestic Abuse Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. “She is currently booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. No bond has been set in this case,” the statement said.
Harris’ grandfather was taken to the hospital for treatment. But his condition wasn’t stated in the release.
