A Florida man had a date to forget after a woman he met via a dating app arranged for him to get carjacked while they were spending time together. According to Fox News, the 35-year-old victim and 24-year-old Brionna Eaddy initially established contact on the Tagged dating app before they met at an apartment complex on September 24.
The affidavit stated that the victim was driving a 2013 Mazda CX9, and he and Eaddy initially made their way to a park that was close by. The pair, however, went back to the apartment complex because the park had closed when they got there.
The victim told police that as he was driving back to the apartment complex with Eaddy, he noticed she was exchanging several text messages. Police also said Eaddy called someone at a certain point.
When the victim and Eaddy got to the apartment, police said they were confronted by two men, adding that one of them was armed with a gun. The man with the gun then ordered the victim to exit his vehicle and hand the keys over to him.
The victim stated that at the time he was being carjacked, Eaddy “calmly exited the vehicle.” He also said it appeared his date match just stood around and waited, the affidavit stated. Police said the victim was made to lay in the grass, adding that he noticed the two men drive off with Eaddy in his stolen vehicle, police said, per Fox News.
Authorities ultimately identified Eaddy and arrested her after the victim shared her photographs from the dating app. Information about the two male suspects had, however, not been disclosed at the time of this report.
Eaddy has since been charged with felony armed carjacking.
