Family and friends have been paying tribute to Taraja Ramsess after the popular stuntman and his three children died in a car crash in Georgia last week. Per CNN, Ramsess, who played roles in movies including Black Panther and Avengers, was traveling with his children on Halloween night when their car crashed into a tractor-trailer that had broken down.
The news of the 41-year-old and his children’s demise was initially announced by his mother Akili Ramsess in an Instagram post on November 2. “My beautiful, loving, talented son Taraja @chop.saki, along with two of my grand babies, his 13 yo daughter Sundari and his 8-week old newborn daughter Fujibo, were killed the previous night in a horrific traffic accident,” Akili Ramsess, who is a photojournalist and executive director of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), wrote.
She also said Ramsess’ 10-year-old son Kisasi was on life support, adding that his two daughters survived. She, however, later announced Kisasi had succumbed to his injuries in another post.

“All who knew and met him know how special Taraja was,” the deceased stuntman’s mother stated. “He had a deep capacity for love and loved his children more than all. He loved his martial arts, motorcycles and all things related to filmmaking.”
Tony Tony Tucci, who is Ramsess’ longtime friend and X3 Sports trainer, also described the 41-year-old as an “amazing person.” “We have a great loss to this world. It makes you reflect and gives you new perspective on everyone you need to call every day. Because you never know when you last words are going to be to someone,” Tucci told WSB-TV.
Tucci also said his deceased friend was a martial artist who worked as a stuntman in movies. “He was always sharing his experiences, happy and glad to be part of that community,” Tucci said. “During the screening of Black Panther, he couldn’t stop talking about it. He was so happy to be a part of it.”
Filmmaker Ava DuVernay also paid tribute to Ramsess in an Instagram post. “My goodness, did he love his children. A happy, whole love. Beautiful to behold,” DuVernay wrote. “He loved making movies and TV too. Held many positions over the years. Immersing himself in all aspects of the craft.”
