Marlon Jackson has shared his final moments with his late brother, Tito Jackson, of Jackson 5 fame.
Barely a month after Tito’s passing, Marlon opened up about the loss in an emotional video. During a tour, Marlon recounted to the audience how he received the heartbreaking news shortly after they had been laughing and joking on the phone.
“The thing is, Tito had called me, and we were on the phone laughing and joking,” he said. “An hour later, I got a call. I talked to the doctor, and they told me he didn’t make it. I said, ‘What do you mean?’ Then a friend called me and said, ‘Tito is in the hospital, and they’re working on him.’”

According to Marlon, doctors attempted to save Tito using a breathing tube, but he didn’t survive.
The emotional moment intensified as Marlon approached a part of the stage where a microphone stand was adorned with one of Tito’s jackets and his bowler hat. He invited the audience to observe a moment of silence while his brother Jackie and nephew Taryll stood quietly, holding back their emotions behind him.
“On Sept. 10, 2001, we had our last show with our brother Michael. On Sept. 10, 2024—our last show with Tito,” Marlon said, before breaking down into tears.

This tribute comes just weeks after their sister, Janet Jackson, publicly shared her grief. She posted a childhood photo of herself with Tito on her Instagram story, captioning it, “May you rest in eternal peace. I miss you so much!”
Following Tito Jackson’s death, his sons Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson also posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. “We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” they wrote, sharing a series of family photos featuring Tito and the Jackson 5. “It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached, and that is ‘Love One Another.’ We love you, Pops.”
Tito passed away at the age of 70.
