‘I miss you so much’ — Janet Jackson breaks silence on brother Tito Jackson’s death

Janet Jackson has finally broken her silence on the death of her brother, Tito Jackson. She paid tribute to him in an Instagram post on Tuesday, a month after his passing.

Janet’s older brother, a member of the legendary Jackson 5, passed away at the age of 70.

“May you rest in eternal peace. I miss you so much!” she captioned a childhood photo of herself and Tito on her Instagram story.

Janet, has been on tour but is currently on a break before her Las Vegas residency shows in December.

Tito Jackson, who rose to fame with his brothers in the Jackson 5, died on September 15, 2024. His death was confirmed by his sons Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson in a heartfelt Instagram tribute the following morning.

“We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken. Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being,” they captioned a series of photos featuring Tito, his sons, and the Jackson 5, posted through Tito’s official Instagram account. “It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached, and that is ‘Love One Another.’ We love you, Pops.”

On the evening of September 15, the Gallup Police Department was “alerted to an individual requiring medical attention,” according to a press release from GPD on September 16. The officer at the scene called for an ambulance for the individual, later identified as Tito Jackson.

Tito was transferred to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Details about his condition leading up to the hospitalization were not disclosed.

Tito Jackson was the third of 10 children, including his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, with whom he formed the Jackson 5, later known as The Jacksons. He is also survived by siblings Janet, Randy, Rebbie, La Toya, and Brandon Jackson.
