American singer and songwriter Mariah Carey will host her own show on BBC Radio 2 this Christmas Day to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her timeless festive hit, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.

According to reports, the pre-recorded program will air at 7 p.m. as part of the station’s special holiday lineup.

During the hour-long show, Carey will reflect on her decades-long career and express gratitude to her fans for their continued support over the years.

She will also share her favorite holiday classics from legendary artists who have inspired her, including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston.

Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ was originally released in 1994 and became one of the best seasonal favorites, though it was initially beaten to the UK Christmas number one-spot by East 17’s Stay Another Day.

In December 2020, the song eventually claimed the UK number one position, 26 years after its release and then repeated the feat in 2022.

Carey will not be the only American superstar featured in the BBC’s Christmas programming. Cher, widely known for hits like ‘I Got You Babe’, will also share her favorite tracks on Desert Island Discs on BBC Radio 4 on December 15.

In addition to her BBC Radio 2 show, Mariah is in the midst of her Carey’s Christmas Time Tour, which she announced in August to mark the 30th anniversary of ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’.

The tour began on November 6 in Highland, California, and will end on December 17 in Brooklyn, New York.

The setlist features 26 songs performed over 90 minutes, which will blend holiday classics with her greatest hits.

The music star closes each show with her iconic 1994 single, which is dubbed the world’s most popular holiday song.

Mariah Carey shared insights into the creation of the beloved track last November to Parade and said, “I started writing that on a little DX7 or Casio keyboard in a small room in my house in Upstate New York lifetimes ago. I just wrote down everything that reminded me of Christmas—things that made me feel festive and that I wanted other people to feel.”
