Canadian-American entrepreneur, chef, restaurateur and actress Ayesha Curry has revealed how her 6-year-old son, Canon, has a knack for keeping her humble.
In an interview with Haute Beauty, the wife of NBA star Stephen Curry shared how her children help her stay grounded.
“I definitely believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” Ayesha remarked. “Sometimes, it’s just being at home in sweatpants, taking care of my kids, and having no makeup on. If my skin is behaving that week, I’ll feel really beautiful because it didn’t freak out on me.”

She elaborated on the importance of self-care: “It can be as simple as taking a bubble bath, enjoying a glass of wine, and putting on a face mask once the kids are asleep. Even 30 minutes of me-time can completely change how I feel—it makes me feel more put-together. Or it could be a date night with my husband, where I get dressed up, do my makeup just right, and wear something cute. On those rare occasions, I’m definitely feeling myself.”
Ayesha and Stephen Curry, 36, share four children: Riley, 12; Ryan, 9; Canon, 6; and their newest addition, Caius, whom they welcomed in May.
The multifaceted mom also credited her skincare line, Sweet July Skin, with boosting her confidence. However, when she needs an extra dose of humility, Canon is always there to deliver.
“He’s done this three times now,” Ayesha laughed. “He’ll run into the kitchen and say, ‘Mom, are you having another baby? Your belly looks big.’ I’m like, ‘No, I’m not.’ And in my head, I’m thinking, ‘Actually, I just lost three pounds!’ But I don’t say it out loud—he really keeps me on my toes!”
