Shared Interest to Host Exclusive New York City Screening of “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom”

Shared Interest, a leading New York-based nonprofit social investment fund working in southern Africa, will host an exclusive New York City pre-screening of MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM, an epic film based on the extraordinary life of Nelson Mandela. The charitable film screening will be the first opportunity for the public to watch the film in New York City before officially opening in late-November.

MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM is the much-anticipated motion picture based on South African President Nelson Mandela’s autobiography of the same name. Starring actor Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela, this inspirational film chronicles Mandela’s humble early life in rural South Africa to become the country’s first democratically-elected president through his transformational leadership to rebuild a nation. Directed by Justin Chadwick, the film is produced by Anant Singh, who is recognized as South Africa’s pre-eminent film producer of some of the most powerful anti-apartheid films.

The film screening is in collaboration with South Africa’s Department of Arts and Culture. The Reception Partners are Madiba Restaurant and Wines of South Africa.

Tickets are available for VIP tickets, $50 (includes 90 minute pre-reception with music, wine and light fare); General Admission tickets, $35.
