History has proven that men predominately dominate the position of president. Though women have occupied the post and have not been associated with scandals and challenges that some presidents have encountered (Presidents Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Jacob Zuma to name a few), many voters are reluctant to survey the qualities a female president can contribute to her society.
The support dwindles even more with the mention of a female and black presidential candidate.
Some presidents are so power hungry that they’ve held their seat for many decades, leaving little opportunity for new ideas and relevant focus on problems affecting the governments they serve.
Black women are strong in the face of challenges, possess first-hand knowledge of being marginalized, are versed in policies and directives that can benefit the black community and much-needed empathy that is grossly overlooked when it comes to women’s issues.
Nevertheless, there are some who are willing to take the challenge head-on. Here are some ladies we’d love to see as president one day.
