The act of giving comes with a lot of benefits not only for the receiver but also the giver as it is associated with improved health and general well-being of an individual.
However, giving back has often been associated with wealthy people, but a new report has indicated otherwise.
The report, the World’s Most Generous Countries, by Gallup group proved that some countries considered poor are among the most generous people in the world.
The report sampled people from 146 countries in 2017 and asked them questions to assess their inclination to give their money, time or assistance to others in need. The results showed that 1.4 billion people donated money to charity, 1 billion people volunteered their time and 2.2 billion people helped a stranger.
Here is how African countries fared.
