Algeria, Ranked 27th worldwide
The North African country of Algeria in recent years experienced a turmoil after its long-time president stepped down, but the Algerian People’s National Armed Forces are actively combatting the instability and civil unrest that persist; the Algerian army is the only one that has been able to effectively oppose Islamic Forces. With active frontline personnel numbering more than 130,000 and nearly 2,000 armoured fighting vehicles, the country has managed to develop massive military capabilities on land, in the air as well as in the waters.
