The landlocked North-Central country has suffered political tensions among other things including high internet charges. In April 2018, amidst political and economic issues, the government blocked the BBC including huge social media apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram and Viber. The cost of 1GB of data is $13.6 which converts to more than 8,000 CFA Franc.
