National Museum of Namibia
Housed in Windhoek’s oldest surviving building, which dates back as far as the early 1890s, the National Museum of Namibia has excellent display of Namibia’s independence.
The country’s historical museum provides some enlightening context to the struggles of Namibia but probably the most interesting part of the museum is the rock-art display, with some great reproductions.
The building originally served as the headquarters of the German Schutztruppe – the official name of the colonial troops in the African territories of the German colonial empire from the late 19th century to 1918. .
