MIT Sloan’s Africa Business Club is pleased to announce the 11th edition of the African Innovate Conference themed: “A Way Forward: Leveraging Innovation as a Catalyst for Growth”. The conference will be held on Saturday, April 9th from 8 am – 6 pm ET at MIT’s Building E14 (75 Amherst St, Cambridge, MA, USA).
The conference will highlight the innovative approaches that companies have used to overcome the challenges that the pandemic presented, and simultaneously look towards the future of the continent and Africa’s growth.
To achieve this, the conference will be hosting panels with the themes of (1) Finance and Investments, (2) Agriculture, (3) Innovative Leadership, (4) Technology, (5) Mobility, (6) Healthcare, (7) Arts, Entertainment, and Culture, (8) Real Estate and Infrastructure Development and (9) Education.
Keynote speakers for the event includes: Olugbenga GB Agboola, Founder and CEO at Flutterwave (Africa’s most valued startup), Aminata Kane, Executive and Board Member at Orange, Dr. Frannie Leautier, Partner at SouthBridge Group and CEO of Southbridge Investments, and Efosa Ojomo, Author of “The Prosperity Paradox: How Innovation Can Lift Nations Out of Poverty”.
The lineup of speakers includes Special advisors and Ministers (at the federal government level) of various African countries (such as Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Special advisor to President of Nigeria on Ease of Doing Business), creatives in the entertainment industry (such as Jason Njoku founder & CEO of IROKO) and innovators across the aforementioned sectors.
This will be a hybrid conference. Please note most of the panelists will be in person.
Renowned Nigerian music artist, Ladipoe, will also be performing at the afterparty.
