3rd Annual Face of Africa Pageant showcases Cultural Art, Beauty & Awareness

Arlington, TX— For many Africans in the diaspora, there is a constant struggle to maintain the beauty and essence of  their history and culture, while embracing their lifestyle and day to day experiences. However, the Face of  Africa pageant has created a platform that allows its participants to be able to do both seamlessly.

 Now in its 3rd year, the Face of Africa USA (FOA-USA) pageant, has heightened awareness of  African culture and celebrates how African heritage positively influences the dual heritage of second generation Africans in America.

Face of  Africa USA will be hosting 3 days of  events leading up to  the"3rd  Annual Face of Africa Pageant ”. The events will be held  July 10th-13th in Arlington, TX, and will feature a Welcome Dinner, a Preliminary Judging Presentation, Fashion Show and several after parties. The "3rd  Annual Face of Africa Pageant" will be held July 13, 2013, at the Rosebud Theater at the prestigious University of Texas at Arlington.

On July 11th, Face of Africa USA will host the Preliminary Judging Presentation
at the  Admiral Hotel in Arlington, TX. This private event will be held exclusively for  sponsors, VIP guests and media partners. During this event, each contestant will present his or her platforms in a 2-3 minute presentation to the judges. Food & drink will be provided during this intimate event which promises to be a spectacular affair.

Additional  pre- event attractions include the Vogue to Africa Fashion Show, presented by FOA-USA, at the Admiral Hotel in Arlington, TX on July 12th.This event, which is a Fundraiser for the Face of Africa USA Scholarship, will be held from 8pm-12am and will feature stunning African fashions and some of the hottest African designers ,St. Frimpong, Third World, and Nana O Couture to mention a few.

The 2013 Face of Africa USA Pageant includes 15 contestants from various countries competing for the titles of Mr. & Miss Face Of Africa USA 2013. FOA-USA is the first national co-ed pageant, and the winners of last year's pageant were from South Sudan and Ghana.The pageant has attracted the participation and support of many African countries.

The 3rd Annual FOA-USA Pageant promises  a night of culture, fashion, talent, beauty, and spirited but, friendly competition. As well as performances by some of the hottest local artists, drummers and singers. Pageant contestants are also asked to identify projects related to African development for their platforms. FOA-USA is featuring a new segment this year called Faces of Change where each week, people are spotlighted doing positive things in the community on the FOA-USA website. All honorees are then voted on by fans and the ultimate winner will be determining at this years pageant for the first Faces of Change Award. The presenter of this award will be Ambassador Robert Van Lierop, an attorney and film maker.

 Tickets are  $25 and include food at the VIP reception and Pageant. Combo tickets are $35 and  include VIP reception, pageant and after party . $15 entry tickets will be available for children 12 and under at the box office the day of the event.
