Black esotericism
Danez Smith produced an anthology of poems that capture the black man’s need for a genuine experience and violence. In his book Don’t Call Us Dead, Smith examines the different forms of violence experienced by the African-American man. Smith also delves into esotericism – “Esoteric cosmology maps out the universe with planes of existence and consciousness according to a specific worldview usually from a doctrine.”
