Blacks in Europe suffered a great deal in a lot of ways, stemmed largely from the thriving trade of slavery and its attendant discrimination.
For many of them, the journey to becoming free from slavery and building lives of their own were items high on their bucket lists. For a few others, it meant far more than just escaping the shackles of slavery; it meant that they lived for a greater purpose in life, establishing legacies for themselves and their generations.
