Dzesi (The Women of Colour Band) – Ghana
The Ghanaian band launched in 2009 with a CD titled “From Africa with Love”. Their music and performances have since been loved by many across the African continent. The lead vocalist of the group, Della Hayes has been in the music career for over 36 years, singing a variety of songs and composing them herself. She had the idea to start an all-female band in 1999 after meeting Liberian drummer, Esther Binta with whom she played in the Navy and the Ghana Broadcasting bands.
